Int’l lineup to perform at Fajr festival

A number of musicians and bands from around the world have been scheduled to perform at the upcoming Fajr International Music Festival.

The 33rd edition of the Fajr International Music Festival in the Iranian capital city of Tehran has scheduled to host a number of international musical artisans during the esteemed event, organizers recently announced.

Among musicians to perform at the event include French drummer Manu Katché, Italian musicians Francesco Cafiso and Luca Ciarla, Portuguese singer Ricardo Ribeiro and Indian sitar player Shahid Parvez Khan.

Musical groups also scheduled to make performances include the Klenke Quartet from Germany, Renaissance Ensemble from Serbia, Egschiglen from Mongolia, Trio Chausson from France and Wild Strings Trio from Slovenia.

The 33rd Fajr International Music Festival will run from January 10-20 this year.

The festival is held during the Fajr Decade (literally meaning ten days of dawn), which marks the anniversary of the ten days from the return of Imam Khomeini, founder of the Islamic Republic, to Iran (February 1) until the victory day of the Islamic Revolution (February 11) in 1979.
